Wow, very dramatic! How do you smudge the ink to make that smoke effect?

Vampyvern responds:

Thanks! So while I don't like giving away ALL my secrets, for this one I'm willing to tell that I used two methods: Strategically smudging the ink while wet and also I have a specific pen that is drying out that works wonders for creating smoke-like effects!

I just got back from watching Men in Black and this thing totally looks like it could fit in that universe. I love your use of space here (no pun intended) to make that person’s character really pop out - not to mention the frame effect or whatever it’s called.

Vampyvern responds:

Now that you mention it, it does have a sort of Men in Black vibe to it but there's no telling if the owner of the OC was inspired by it or not.

Thanks- the frame effect was something that I started trying out last year for some personal work and it kind of stuck with me!

I get the Rosie the Riveter reference with the pose! You drew all of this so well - the hair, fur, clothes, etc - have you ever gotten a job in the comic book industry?

Vampyvern responds:

Thank you for noticing! The reference to that pose is such a classic!
So, to be short-I have worked with independent comic creators before (Still do) and would love a position in the industry to hold as my own. However, I have worked with a publisher in the past that didn't treat me well and I have parted ways with them. Do you have a position you'd like to offer me? :D I could use the work!

Yo, I can see how much fun you had in the drawing itself, with the colors and pretty lights! It’s contagious!

DDArianne responds:

HELL YEAH I HAD IT! the music, the themes, the nostalgia +A+!!!!
I let myself be hahahah!
Thank you :D!

I love the colors, the composition, the lighting, the line work, all of it. It all just conveys so much without words.

pluckyshroom responds:

thank you so much ;0; rachel gave me very good/clear direction to work with for the mood of what she wanted, so i'm glad it all comes across

Since she’s a vampire, wouldn’t their bio say “#drinktherich”? :P

Anyway, wow, this is a cool design! I hope you get a plentiful but manageable number of attacks! I know @Bleak-Creep wants to attack a lot of people, and I think she’d enjoy the character, so I’ll tag her here so she can see this.

ErasedMe responds:

XD Yes drink the rich would make more sense

Also thank you! I also hope that artfight goes well for me

That design with the space dust incorporated is so frickin’ cool, I especially love the head and how it’s half-there half-space with an impromptu orbit halo. So creative.

jouste responds:

glad that you like it! my space stuff is always missing something imo. it's a hard topic to draw.

A hunter of slashers! Now that’s a cool concept!

I love the body and shape language here.

jouste responds:

thanks! yeah i really needed a square looking guy.

Excellent design, I love the use of color and posture!

jouste responds:

appreciate it! the pose really made this guy.

The shading style looks really cool, especially the highlights on the pants and boots.

MOT7 responds:

oooh I love your opinions so much!! :O, thank you very much, I'm sure I can improve more
