I think @maruki would love this. Really love the colors and textures!

Opal is my birthstone and in general I’ve always been a sucker for gems with cool lighting effects (opal, tiger’s eye, etc). I find it hard to pick a specific one, though, because I am a human magpie and all of the shiny rocks are cool to me.

Love the little spots of grime you added. That’s a nice touch. (How you did that on top of the textured shading amazes me.)

It's really just two transparent layers. One with blobby shapes and a second with with even more transparency that more smoothly blends it into the surrounding.

The highlights look a little blurry, and hands/wrists are as always the bane of our collective existence, but otherwise you’ve really improved a lot!

Okay, so I saw this in my feed before I knew about The Unknown part, and I wondered what the hell that was in the thumbnail. But now I get it. X’)

He’s actually a damn cool design, and I think he could even fit into the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, considering Roald Dahl’s penchant for darker twists in a lot of his other books. He’d have to represent something, though, because of the morality play aspect of Dahl’s writing. Possibly the general paranoia that tends to consume the types of shallow-minded people that the other golden ticket holders are.

Anyway, childhood nerd-out aside: I love this pixel art rendering and how the meth Oompa-Loompa just sorta shakes, lol.
