You did the facial features, face shape, and hairstyle a little bit weirdly, they don't quite look like him. But otherwise, I really like the style you used for this, including the sketchy drawing, the colors, and the background. This is really cool, I'd enjoy seeing more character portraits done like this!

It's... a thingy? Haha!

Before seeing your art, I had basically had zero exposure to the different versions of Doom other than just the original game. The different monster designs from the later versions/sequels are always interesting to me and sometimes come as quite a surprise, like this one.

One tiny nitpick I have is that I figured that the light from inside the mouths would light up a little bit more of what was right outside of it. Otherwise, really nice work.

Forgot to review this when it was posted. Very nice updated ref, I love the little touches like Emily's friend's info and color palette being way smaller than Emily's and how that conveys their respective ego sizes, haha! I also like how the character designs changed, you made some good tweaks to them.

Ooh, nice! Looks very fluid! How do you achieve that kind of smoothness with pixel art?

Ioruko responds:

Thank you! I am just animating with more frames per second, that's all :) Also using smears to my advantage helps.

Nice work! I just realized you do hand poses pretty well (as shown in this one and the other one you posted). That's something I respect considering I struggle with hands a bit haha

Love the stylistic choices you made with drawing her!

Really interesting outfit designs here. How'd you come up with them?

Edit: Oh lol I get that part, but how'd you come up with the rest of the design choices you made - fabric choices, colors, some of the aspects of the shapes of the outfits, etc.

I love the way the orange lighting makes the underside of the horns look! Great work as always. I may have asked this before, but I forgot - how long does a pixel artwork like this usually take to make?

BoJustBo responds:

3-5 hours usually, sometimes a bit more on the less symmetrical ones.

Wow, it's improved a lot! There's a lot of details that look more realistic, such as the flowers, the fabric, and the ruffles. I also noticed that the transitions in her hair colors have been getting better looking. The background is also really beautiful and colorful. Very nice!

That is an awesome design, and another very dynamic pose. As usual I love the stylized way of drawing, especially with the scarf and fire here. The lighting is also well done, with the orange reflection of the firelight off the armor. Background is cool and actually adds a bit to the dynamic look of the piece. Very well done in general!
