[The Awakening]

I basically just woke up, hello Ghetsis.

Now that I’ve seen the original, I feel like the lighting/shading could be a little more dramatic to better fit the mood and lighting conditions in the scene. Otherwise, yeah, works well!

Other movie references you could add, if you’re going for mostly classic horror: A chainsaw, TV with a ghost girl coming out (from one of those Japanese horror films), mad science equipment in general.

On top of that, why not look into games you can reference as well?
