Proof? its rather hard to believe any of this just by word of mouth. Also this feels like it could have been resolved in private, seems a bit petty to just start posting this to the front page, nevertheless if Larry is indeed proven guilty, you will be avenged, Dark avenged... -Dark Avenger

In my opinion, he made the issue public first by sabotaging the game. Unfortunately, I didn't have the foresight to keep the messages themselves for later, and the audit log doesn't keep them either. I do have proof of him acting the way he's been acting before, but since it doesn't pertain to me, I'll wait to see if the person affected steps forward.

I see nothing wrong with his responses to the reviews on the game.

There may have been others that were put on reviews that have since been deleted. Doesn’t justify him treating me with a “get triggered lol” attitude and taking it out on the entire team and our players.

He seems to be wanting to believe that somehow I’ve planned out this whole situation out of malice towards him. In reality, I’m just flying by the seat of my pants and didn’t realize I needed to have evidence against him until he brought the drama to the front page of Newgrounds itself.

And I was just about to try the game out for myself...
The replies from larrynachos there right now though don't really seem really mocking, the only one kinda rude sounding being the first with the "You only played for two minutes" remark, so was there earlier replies more rude and mocking or are these the only ones they have made?

There may have been others that were put on reviews that have since been deleted. Doesn’t justify him treating me with a “get triggered lol” attitude and taking it out on the entire team and our players. Shouting “WRONG!” in response to everything (this is a metaphor in case somebody wants to think I’m making up things) is no way to treat another human.

I myself used to defend his behavior in the past, because I'm FAR from a saint either (as you can guess from my nickname), so I can understand when someone acts like jerk, As per request, an example of nachos attitude:

The context is that I asked him about a possibility of changing certain aspects of one of his games to make them less tedious. Considering that he's not a good programmist, it's easy to exploit his games one way or another, and it doesn't really need some big brain to do that.

I'm not the first guy either, I remember that Neonspider was providing him some legitimate technical tips as to how to improve the games, but the same response happened to him as well. And probably some other folks as well. And already back then Neon warned me about nachos, so yeah.... I can understand that someone might not believe it until it happens to them. And yeah, ironically enough, I was myself warning Thetageist few week ago to expect problems with nachos in the future, when I was asking about some troubleshooting issues with the game in OP.

And you know, when I do something wrong, or break a rule, I get banned, so at least it's fair. But nachos is part of the NG circlejerk, so he's MORE equal than others, so if anything, I would expect people who complain about nachos' behavior to get banned instead of him. That's how it works on NG

We have a lot of people here who have that same kind of sarcastic attitude and see NG as the last bastion of being allowed to do that. The thing is, though, brutal honesty is still brutal, especially if you’re adding in humor at the expense of the other person. It always gives the impression that you just see them and what they have to say as beneath you, regardless of whether or not you actually believe you have an ego.

What Would Fulp Do?

Tom would've had the foresight to keep a copy of the source code from the beginning in case anything went wrong. He also would've brought another programmer in to help instead, which is what I'm thinking of doing if I can get the game back up.

For everyone's clarification: The reason I don't have evidence is because I didn't expect him to escalate this way. I thought he was going to actually move on after being banned, instead of trying to have the last word out of spite. I'm currently looking to see if there are ways to get back the old messages again.

@Thetageist Once more, you could have solved things in private. you are being childish. -Dark Avenger

I don’t expect him to do anything constructive if I talk to him in private. He seems to be only motivated by spiting me and making me look actively malicious (projecting), so why would he give up a chance to keep doing that?

I'm sorry that happened!

I've kind of had it with a good chunk of the NG community. In my experience, people—especially many of the current most popular artists/programmers—act like being rude is funny or somehow charismatic. You don't know if you're responding to a *child*, a person who's had a rough day, or a non-native English speaker who doesn't understand sarcasm when posting online, so it's important to have tact and some level of professionalism when responding to criticism. (What would Grandma think?!) That's my personal value but I understand not everyone holds that opinion.

Popular NG users set an example for the less popular people and if they act holier-than-thou all the time, then no one's willing to point out the flaws in their behavior (or *gasp* their content) out of fear of being attacked. So nothing changes. And people trying to get a foothold in the site culture will imitate that behavior.

I've witnessed the NG circlejerk from afar, it's an exclusive club featuring a feedback loop of assholery. But no one says anything because they're major site contributors. I wish it wasn't like this, but that's just the Internet in general for you. The nice thing is, I don't *have* to like those people.

I do like Newgrounds because of the mostly hands-off moderation policies. People have the freedom to act however and make whatever they want. That doesn't stop the consequences from other users. It's just impossible to expect everyone on the site to get along, unfortunately. We all have different values and expectations.

I'm sorry for how things turned out. It makes me sad to see people be unhappy with each other on this site. It is one of the last bastions for true creativity and treating it like an exclusive club just drives new people away.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that. Please pardon my rambling (omigosh O__O). Hope you have a nice day. And keep making stuff!

I’m definitely seeing this a lot. I think that it’s a vestige of when the internet was populated almost entirely by white, American teenage boys, and the older those men get, the more they dig in their heels and become vocal enough that the directionless children of today are convinced to follow suit. They’ll do anything they can to hold onto toxic ideals of what it means to be strong or powerful. What started as edgy subcultures like early NG is now the alt-right and its associated fads like chad worship and looksmaxxing.

How this applies to Larry is that I definitely took notice when he joked that not bashing back against the reviewers would make him a “cuck developer”. Even though it was a joke, I could tell the word itself wasn’t being used unironically. You know who uses that word unironically? Guys who call themselves alpha males. It really makes me wonder which Internet personalities he’s following, and who those people are following, and whether the chain of followers can be traced to some kind of extremist pundit whose ideas are slowly trickling down into the general public like Larry. But isn’t that most people these days?

@Anonymous-Frog @Thetageist
I'm no wiz on programming, but would Tom or Wade Fulp be able to reobtain lost data to the site?

I say this because I heard of ways to recover deleted accounts or groups over at FimFiction, so it might be possible to recover games, and sense this game got the front page, I assume it would get a bit more priority in an attempt to recover by the NG team.

I try to make it a habit to save content that relate to me (call me a packrat) but there are a few things that I have failed to copy before it got deleted. Lucky for you, someone got a snapshot on the WayBackMachine. I don't think it will help much, and it doesn't play to my attempts, but it's something.

Already asked Tom about it. If there’s anyone who has a backup of files uploaded to the site, it’s gotta be him. I may have gotten a response, but I haven’t had the time to check.

@Thetageist I don't think a lot of these implications or speculations were necessary.

Maybe not with regards to Larry specifically. But I do see a lot that the idea of “being an asshole is good” isn’t unique to NG and is largely reestablishing itself rather than dying. I’m just as sick of seeing it happen.

For the record, I also made a wording mistake in my initial response - “You know who uses that word unironically” made it sound like I was calling him a wannabe alpha male. I had meant to say “you know who else uses that word unironically”.

@Thetageist It's a phenomenon across all groups on the Internet. The sense of some sort of anonymity behind a screen gives people the ability to unleash all their negative emotions and thoughts they normally keep inside or filter from their everyday language.

That is true. Do you know why it becomes glorified so much, though?

@Thetageist It's entertaining. I guess.

I've sacrificed everything, what have you given me in return?
You owe me big time.
